Your title refers to Abby Hoffman's "Steal This Book." During the 70's, the publisher took out ads listing various bookstores that carried the title and informing the public about the best method or time of day to steal the book (e.g. when there were fewer cashiers on duty). It was a publicity stunt, of course, but an amusing one.
