You probably won't take this seriously, but the third VU album is their best. Their second best is White Light White Heat and Loaded (tie), and the banana album is their fourth best. I don't think that VU + Nico is "unforgivable" but it's embryonic. "The Marble Index," "Paris 1919," and "Coney Island Baby" are better--but if it hadn't been for the banana album, these others might not have seen the light.

I'm only talking albums here. If the discussion is extended to individual songs, the rankings become more problematic.

P.S. "I Found a Reason" reflects Lou's appreciation of doo-wop, not British music.
