You made some good purchases. $1 records are my favorite way to discover old music--I don't usually look up records on the phone because I like to try to guess how something will turn out.

Sad about the Smokey record, but the others sound worthwhile (except the Charlie Rich--I haven't gotten into his work yet).

Here's a bit of Baldry trivia: two of his early players were saxophonist Elton Dean and pianist Reginald Dwight. Dwight later adopted his stage name from the first names of Dean and Baldry. (Although I'm an enormous Elton Dean fan--saw him solo in concert once--I still haven't gotten into Baldry's records. That one looks good.
