You have accepted a mission that is difficult and I would guess personally painful.
Here's a story that I deeply regret never having chronicled. In the 90’s I taught at a HBCU for a few years; one of my students brought in a (white) newspaper article that she had kept for some time. She summarized the story for us: A black man in a southern town was found hanged; his severed testicles were in his mouth. The death, the article said without question, was ruled a suicide.
The work that you do in writing about black murders will inevitably encourage others to share their stories and experiences. Gradually perhaps, but unstoppably, we as a national conscience will rewrite the bogus histories that blame African Americans for their murder at the hands of entrenched and empowered racists.
As we used to say in the 60's, keep on keeping on.
