You could be right. But like many experts, including mainstream Democrats, you're basing your argument on figurehead politics.

The figurehead (in this case the POTUS) rarely has the power to make things better (the only two I can think of offhand are Abraham Lincoln and FDR). Figureheads tend either to maintain the status quo or screw things up.

The main work of change (either for the better or for the worse) is performed at lower levels:

* The U. S. Congress and federal courts (not just the Supreme Court, which is actually another sort of figurehead)

* State legislatures, governorships, and state courts

* Local elected and appointed officials (mayors, city / county commissions, boards of education, etc.)

Citizens United, for example, was not a presidential initiative.

So don't wait for 4 years of Biden moderate status-quo "leadership." Get involved with the local Democratic party (or Republican party--good luck there, or third party--good luck there) and work your way up.

It's slow and it's tedious and it's often frustrating. But it's the only real way to make a change for the better.
