You beat me to it--I was writing a 60's-70's parody series (to follow my earlier parody series), with a Rutles segment.

Now I can just link to your wonderful article without having to do any work.

Incidentally, pre-Rutles, Neil and the Bonzo Dog Band performed two Beatle-esque parodies on their fourth and final album, "Let's Make Up and Be Friends:":

"Don't Get Me Wrong" (which pokes fun at a number of styles): https://youtu.be/FFncY_JRBjw

"Fresh Wound" (with the immortal line referring to the indulgent Harrisonesque guitar solo, "Come on George, snap out of it," and the parody of Paul McCartney choruses and bridges that appear out of nowhere): https://youtu.be/q7Lq06uwkC8
