That is not how satire works. Jonathan Swift does not rebut the opinions of his fictional persona in "A Modest Proposal."
Saturday Night Live doesn't follow one of its satirical skits with the writer's own opinion.
You may, if you like, object to the author's use of satire instead of direct social commentary. But the essay uses satire in a traditional way, and lets the readers draw their own conclusions on what the irony is saying, rather than telling them point blank how to interpret it.
