Songs for Insomniacs 46: Xenakis, “Claviers” (performed by Kuniko Kato)

Vibraphonist Kuniko Kato is overdubbed not only aurally but visually in this performance of the third movement of Iannis Xenakis’ “Pléïades,” scored for vibraphones, marimbas, xylophones, and xylorimbas. What’s most fascinating is that Kato seems to take on a different personality for each instrument.
