Wonderful animation.
Trump is a liar, so there are at least four possibilities:
- Jean Carroll is not Trump’s type and he did not rape her.
The total innocence scenario and the least likely in my judgment. In this case we have to wonder why he’s using “not my type” as a defense rather than “I’m not a rapist.” - Jean Carroll is Trump’s type and he did not rape her.
Here he would be innocent of rape but guilty of lying. We have to ask why he would lie about his type when he is innocent of rape anyway. Why not say “I find her attractive, but I don’t rape women, regardless of whether or not I’m attracted to them.” - Jean Carroll is Trump’s type and he did rape her.
The most likely possibility knowing what we do of Trump (often from his own words). Here he would be guilty of both lying and rape. The purpose of lying with “She’s not my type” might be to discredit or shame the accuser — she’s not even rape-worthy. - Jean Carroll is not Trump’s type and he did rape her.
Still a shoddy defense, even if it’s true. Almost as likely as possibility 3: after all, the basis of rape is the desire to exert power (Trump’s metier), not achieve sexual gratification.
So why is Trump using such a flimsy defense? I think for him the flimsiness is part of the attraction. His goal isn’t so much to establish his innocence as to boast of his dominance. Trump is in charge of establishing not only a woman’s attractiveness but her rape-worthiness. And once he has committed a crime, he believes he should get away with it, regardless of how poor his defense.
He’s a cheap cop show psychopath taunting us with his sense of superiority. Your animation beautifully illustrates the violent nature of his hubris.
