When I was young (and had hair), my hair style was more like Jerry Mathers' than Marshall Mathers' (boomer reference). But as I've mentioned before, in spite of my age and bias, I did find grunge a breath of clean air. Boy bands, on the other hand, are for me at least a bane--a foul and apparently ineradicable weed that has sprung up in the garden of pop music. Have you noticed how they all say the word "girl" the same way (and they say it a lot).

Girl groups from the 60's are another matter altogether. (And I even like some of the recent girl groups from K-Pop and J-Pop).

Justin Timberlake might be okay (I don't know enough to judge), but I've got lots of grunge to catch up on first.
