What a lovely history. I know King Curtis from his work on "Swingin' on a Star" by The Three Suns (arranged by Charles Albertine). The contrast between the slightly raucous R&B sax and the easy listening organ / accordion / guitar work of the 3 Suns is unique in mid-century instrumental music.
