Unplugged was a great series, but I didn't watch a lot of MTV, and I probably would have avoided anyone I wasn't a fan of (e.g. Korn or Hole--not bashing, just indicating personal taste). Your article has shown how that could be a mistake. I've learned from watching these videos that while if an electrified band or its material is defective in some way (pretentious, inept, etc.), then an acoustic set would make those failings more obvious, but if a band / material is good, then stripping away the outer trappings may make the strengths more apparent. The vocal duet on Freak would be wonderful even a capella. (I saw a link in the recommendation list to one of those reaction videos--from a Vocal Coach--not that anyone would need a reaction video to appreciate that performance.)
