Conflict is the essence of storytelling. Here are three dramatized songs about conflict. You may need to listen to each several times to pick up on the storyline, but I believe you’ll find the experience worthwhile.

Hello Saferide, “Long Lost Penpal”

Annika Norlin and Firefox AK act out a retrospective drama of a woman reaching out to the pen pal from the past whose life she may have saved (“Let me know if you ever used that knife or not”) — with a surprising twist.

Montt Mardie, “Surprised”

Montt Mardie (aka David Pagmar) and Andreas Mattson debate how they’ll react when a young woman on whom both had a teenage crush (and who’s back in town checking up on her old friends) shows up — as the title suggests, they’re planning to be surprised (and — unsuccessfully — looking to each other for support), but that’s not the final surprise.
