What Trump believes in foremost is the primacy of White patriarchy. As a psychopath totally devoid of empathy, he can't conceive of women (or transsexuals or Blacks or Muslims et al.) as having authentic, independent selves.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, as a champion for all selves, was a major threat to his identity, which is no doubt why he was (in his own words) "saving Barrett up for Ginsburg."
