Tremendously insightful contrast between Hucksterbee and Malcolm X. As you rightfully point out, "The speech may well represent the fullest declaration of Malcolm X’s Black nationalist philosophy." But (as I'm sure you're aware) Malcolm moved beyond the brilliant rhetoric of his Black nationalist speeches to embrace a more universal view of human rights (and international Islam). I think his most powerful message wasn't a speech but an action. (I'm citing the following from memory--the details may not be accurate, but I think the gist is still true.) Malcolm's house had been firebombed about a week before his death. At his final speech, he relaxed the security--in my view because he was willing to be assassinated in order to protect his family. Malcolm was willing to take the bullet. Would Mike Huckabee be willing to do so in order to save his family? Would his daughter be willing to do so in order to save her father? I don't know what goes on in their tiny hearts, but I doubt it.
