This worked extremely well as a list (related choices). My overall impression was that they were all pleasant. Now that might sound like faint praise, but it's extremely difficult to create music that's both honest and pleasurable. Anyone can concoct three minutes of noise, or three minutes of schlock. But these musicians reflect a shared set of values: something that's touching and accessible but not hackneyed. Even the Russ track is (sort of) mellow.

My favorite was the Oneohtrix (also the only artist here that I've heard before). I don't use Spotify, so I watched the "official video" on YouTube--truly compelling; even the damn video was good. This is one of the few pieces I've heard recently that I would pay for.
