This passage in the conclusion may contain a typo — it seems to contradict your previous arguments:
“Does staying home or voting third-party in protest provide a greater benefit to the socialist movement than helping toss one of its greatest threats out of office? I think so.”
I think those earlier points are well taken, and I would remind voters with short memories that in 2016, Noam Chomsky (who is a far more devout and persuasive leftist than practically anyone in America, including Sanders) stated that if he lived in a swing state, he would vote for Clinton in the general election.
We have had four years since the electoral abuses documented in 2016, and practically no one (except Sanders himself to a degree) has done anything about them. How many progressives have joined local Democratic parties in order to start a revolution from the ground up? In two years, we’ll have congressional elections. Anyone sitting out the election as some kind of protest gesture should not be sitting down and whining on Facebook about the establishment.
