This is a necessary question, but it's not an unanswerable one, nor is begging the question likely to produce productive answers. Certainly there will be people claiming that any further aid will inevitably "escalate" the war, and there are people arguing that further aid will on the other hand bring about a solution that doesn't require the subjugation of the Ukrainian people. I believe that it's possible to weigh pros and cons before committing resources, but if we don't respond quickly, then Putin and his supporters in Russia and abroad will answer the question for us.
