There’s another advantage for late entrants: they don’t have to spend as much time under the magnifying glass, unlike the present slate who have been subjected to months of scrutiny (Sanders has actually gone through 1.5 primaries). It’s cheap and shoddy, and it disrespects the general public, scavenging for late deciders the way a vulture searches for a dying animal.
