There is another link via the Rutles and Neil Innes, i.e. the Bonzo Dog Band, who appeared in the film Magical Mystery Tour. The Bonzos parodied the Beatles on their final album “Let’s Make Up and Be Friendly” with “Don’t Get Me Wrong” (early Beatles + doo wop + a White Album guitar solo) and “Fresh Wound,” thoroughly savage (“Come on George snap out of it”) and a damn good song per se.
