There are three major categories of heist movies:

(1) those in which you root for the thieves (the Oceans movies). In this category, the thieves almost always succeed.

(2) those in which you don't root for the thieves and you find it appropriate that they get caught (both versions of The :Ladykillers, especially the more recent one)

(3) those in which you don't root for the thieves but you find it tragic that they get caught (The Killing).
