The last Stones album I owned (and listened to throughout) was Sticky Fingers. So this classic song is a new one for me. (The Stones were my second favorite British invasion band from the 60's. I know their early stuff like the back of my hand.)

"Undercover of the Night" is pretty decent as songwriting goes, not as strong (in my view) for the lyrics. (I'm not big on Spotify, so I watched the "Official Promo" on YouTube).

In 1983 the Kinks were doing this (video by Julien Temple): https://youtu.be/KnHw_1h0-fE

In my view, this song and video capture the 80's ethos better than the Stones had, and it's timeless as well. But the music critics had their head in the wrong place.
