The kind of blackface that I don't have any problems with is the type of role that Robert Downey played in Jungle Thunder, because the movie used it as a way to comment on the inappropriateness of white people playing black roles. Then there are the obviously offensive roles like Northam and there are examples in between that might be debatable. But speaking just for myself, even though I admire MLK or John Lewis or Malcolm X, I would never dream of dressing up as them for any reason.
