Thank you for this perceptive introduction to a wonderful master. I had heard some instrumental Chinese music from time to time, but I had never understood how expressive the Chinese fiddle could be.

From my outsider's perspective, the young Mr. Liu seems to rely on virtuosity, while the older Mr. Liu relaxes into a style that's gracious and wise. As an older person myself, I greatly appreciate the grace and generosity of the elder player.
