Suspicious Minds is a great composition and a great performance.

Triggered memories: I had a dream about a week ago in which I kept playing / hearing the first 3 Yardbirds singles that I owned ("Shapes of Things"--a major influence on my musical taste; ""Happenings Ten Years Time Ago"--which features both Beck and Page; and "Over Under Sideways Down"). In my dream, these three songs were somehow connected to my father (the dream never explained how or why).

A song on a single is somehow more immediate than the same song on an album. It's only competing with one song for attention.
