Songs for Insomniacs 8: “Galadriel” by Barclay James Harvest
Most people are probably more familiar with the J. R. R. Tolkien character Galadriel than with the song about her by the Barclay James Harvest, a British progressive group from the 60’s similar to their contemporaries The Moody Blues, but more restrained and symphonic (lots of Mellotron). A loving tribute to fantasy, the evening hours, and lost youth.
