Songs for Insomniacs 60: Ingram Marshall, “Dark Waters”
If you’ve seen “Shutter Island,” you’ve heard post-classical composer Ingram Marshall’s murky “Fog Tropes.” Even blacker and more velvety, “Dark Waters” consists of processed English horn and oboe, and samples of an old 78 rpm of Sibelius’ “Swan of Tuonela.”
