Songs for Insomniac 75: Earl Grant, “Quiet Village”

“Quiet Village” may be the quintessential lounge music track (written by Les Baxter and performed later by Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman). But while Denny and Lyman used vocal bird / animal calls to enhance the exoticism, Earl Grant uses just the Hammond organ to create these effects.

From his 1965 album “Trade Winds”
