Some Velvet Morning (the Nancy-Lee original) is one of my favorite country crossovers. You got a real bargain there at $8.
Country originals are still a bargain. As you leaf through the country crates, keep an eye out for Merle Travis ("Folk Songs from the Hills" on shellac in 1947 was one of the first concept albums.) Also don't pass up "The Lightning Fingers of Roy Clark" even though you may have been traumatized by Hee Haw as a youth. And check out “Songs I Played for Eddy Arnold” by Little Roy Wiggins — instrumental pedal steel It’s on a budget label so you should be able to pick up a copy very cheaply.
