Some of my favorite films in any genre, and great mini-reviews. "Phantom Lady" (1944) is quite good.

Three adaptations of Dorothy B. Hugues novels: Ride the Pink Horse, In a Lonely Place, and The Fallen Sparrow. I haven't seen Sparrow--the other two are excellent. Hughes excels in creating an atmosphere of danger and dread.
