Soft Machine evolved constantly and changed lineups frequently, but I found all of their phases interesting until the last original member (organist Mike Ratledge) left. After that, it became a Karl Jenkins band (and I'm not a big fan of his over-commercialized* work).

Slick and glossy, but what's the point? KJ is the only Canterbury musician to receive a CBE, which says a lot.
