Similar situation for me, circa 1973, except that I had bought a ticket to see Jerry Jeff Walker (early in his solo career). A friend of mine: "You don't really want to see that concert do you?" I gave the ticket away to someone outside the small venue. I was glad to spend the time with my friend, but I haven't seen her for many decades, and Jerry Jeff Walker is dead, so no more small venue concerts.
