Same here. I've heard one of her songs once, and wasn't impressed. I looked the new one up before posting this. Nothing new. But I did come away with a greater appreciation of her publicist.

She sings the notes well and varies things up, but in a very predictable way. If you took every singer from those tv talent shows and distilled all their performances into one person, you'd get Adele. None of the highs, none of the lows, just good safe music that pretends to be distinctive (but not too much).

I like singers who are quirky, not because they're trying to be different but because they're just being true to themselves.
