Paul's post reminded me of a draft from several months ago about short songs from Canterbury prog (23 songs, all but one less than 2 minutes). I think we're on the same track--except that I'm including some works that aren't epic in structure or development, more like transitions, or in one case a 54 second improvisation by Alan Holdsworth. All of the Canterbury choices here (I'm including Camel in that group) are wonderful, but my favorite song is Peaches en Regalia. So much gradeur and wit in such a small space. I'll let you know when my list is up.
