Not a scientific survey, but the maskless (and often coughing and sneezing) women in my little community (no overt protesters here) are white and young or middle-aged. In public places here, black women (of all ages) and their children, as well as a few middle-aged and older white women, tend to wear masks.

Since the primary value of masks is to protect those around you, the trend in my area would square with your conclusions.
