Not a biggie for me either, but I’m not a Van Halen fan. Eddie is the only one I can name. (Eilish’s music probably wouldn’t be any different if Van Halen was on her permanent playlist.)

I’m much more impressed when a current artist reaches back to a great but ignored musician, as The Unthanks for example have done with their covers of Robert Wyatt (or of Molly Drake — Nick’s mother). This does in a way collapse time by rescuing universally significant art from the ravages of oblivion.
