My only purely heavy music from this year: Caned by Nod's "None the Wiser." Not bad for a thrash metal singer / songwriter turned outlaw country (Cody Jinks). But I think (except for Caned by Nod's track "Broken Wings") his country album from this year ("Mercy") is heavier, if less metal.
