Most of the time I recognize only a few bands on a list (and usually it's name recognition only). But here, I've heard substantial works by everyone except Caspian, Show Me a Dinosaur, and Release the Long Ships. Based on the congruence of our tastes, I'm looking forward to listening to these 3.

Here are a few suggestions (that you may already know):

* Mono and World's End Girlfriend, "Palmless Prayer, Mass Murder Refrain"--a collaboration; nothing else like it.

* Yndi Halda (from England)--anything by them.

Aphasia (from Taiwan--there are several bands from other countries with this name), especially their latest "Known Rocks." Similar to Explosions in the Sky (but different).

* Gregor Samsa

* The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die

* I Am the Architect (especially "Walk in Regret"; "Louis the King")
