I've read 1 & 4. I'm familiar with the overall basis for objectivism and Ayn Rand's background. Her work was never suppressed in the US, and she didn't attempt to publish in Russia as far as I know. Many Russian writers who opposed censorship and propaganda WITHIN Russia did pay the price or were forced to "publish" privately within the system of samizdat, or in a few cases to use irony and indirection to criticize the totalitarian regime. Rand is a coward and a charlatan in my view.. You're better off reading Bely, Bulgakov, Mandelstam, Akhmatova, Tzvaeteva, Zamyatin, Sinyavsky, Zoshchenko, Babel, et al. than to champion a writer who took the easy and self-promoting course.
