sed to me that they …cently who confessed to me that they almost never thought about the order an album was arranged in. Is that true for you, too, or are you crazy like me, and wrote/deleted several paragraphs about this?

I've always thought about the order of tracks, especially the closer.
Incidentally (I don't know why) the album is spelled "Odessey and Oracle." I saw the Zombies live in a small town in south Georgia just before or as "Time of the Season" was released. They were quite good, especially Rod Argent. They played a relatively obscure track from the Byrds' Fifth Dimension ("I See You" I think).
