I've always found 1.1 (with Robert Wyatt on piano) a bit nervous--it reminded me of the tension when waiting for a plane to take off or depart. But I loved it.
2 (Plateaux of Mirrors, with Harold Budd) is much more relaxing. I'm not familiar with 3 and 4, but Discreet Music has always been fascinating, and Apollo is one of my favorites. (As are the earlier Enos--though they're not particularly relaxing.)
My recommendation for relaxing ambient is the title track from Steve Roach's Structures from Silence.
It's early, but to my ears unsurpassed.
