It's a tough call.
I'd start the Stones run with Aftermath, ignore the live albums, and end it with Sticky Fingers or Exile, but I'm an outlier in liking Satanic Majesties. Four 5-star AllMusic ratings in a row starting with Beggar's Banquet and ending with Exile, skipping Ya-Ya's.
You could start the Beatles run with Rubber Soul and end it with Abbey Road, but Yellow Submarine spoils that series, imo. Four 5-star AllMusic ratings in a row, from Revolver to the white album.
There's also the Kinks' run, starting with Face to Face and ending with Muswell Hillbillies, but you'd have to skip the live album and ignore Percy (as a soundtrack). Four 5-star AllMusic ratings from Face to Face to Arthur, skipping the live album.
My money's on the Kinks, but any way you slice it, it was a damn good time for music.
