It predates contemporary praise music, but Wayne Raney's "Gathering in the Sky" is probably my favorite religious song (I like it so much I had to upload it to YouTube because it wasn't there).
The song uses the metaphor of a camp meeting.
If you've never heard of them, here's a bit of background. My late father-in-law used to attend camp meetings in his youth. People would camp out for a week or so for what we would nowadays call a revival--it was like a completely separate world from the everyday world of the attendees. According to my father-in-law, people would bring their cows so they'd have a source of milk.
