In places, "Yellow Pills" is artier than anything at the time (except art rock itself). There's enough substance there (what you call timelessness) to merit a re-evaluation (apparently there are a number of re-releases, and AllMusic names the compilation of their first 2 albums an Album Pick ( https://www.allmusic.com/album/20-20-look-out%21-mw0000172705 ). But they're apparently still not catching on. No underestimating the public taste, it seems.
They were just a name to me until now (I'm on the wrong coast), so I appreciate your review and interview.
