In 2019, I did a bit of digging about Killer Mike because he was supporting Bernie Sanders vs. Hillary Clinton. If you watch the videos from that period, KM seems genuinely surprised about basic facts about black history that Sanders expounds. How anyone of KM's age and intelligence could have been unaware of this background flummoxed me.

Two years later, KM seems as impressed by the racist agenda of Brian Kemp as he was by Sanders' progressive but patronizing historiography.

Common denominator? Gender. Dr. King would have not made this mistake. He respected the struggle of anyone (Black, White, Male, Female) who moved the arc of justice forward.

I live in Georgia. Stacey Abrams has fought long and intelligently to advance equal rights. Brian Kemp has done the oposite. Killer Mike may as well have sat atop Stone Mountain and raised a glass of Southern Comfort to the Confederate generals.

Decent music doesn't excuse bad politicking.
