I'm in semi-urban / semi-rural Georgia. Flea markets and "antique" malls generally think anything by Elvis is worth a mint, but don't have a clue about the rest--everything tends to sell for a fixed price (usually $3-5) regardless of rarity or condition. I found the first Pacific Jazz / Gerry Mulligan 10" at a flea market for a couple of bucks I think. The cover was in fair (as opposed to good) shape, but the album played fairly well. In general, not much jazz here. A fair amount of R&B at the junk shops, but the real record shops know the book / Discogs value of what they sell and tend to mark it up at full price.
