I'm in NW GA (Marjorie Taylor Greene's district). My favorite southern writer on Medium is Terry Barr https://medium.com/@terrybarr (Alabama born, now teaching in South Carolina). He's quite conversant (and writes about) food, books, politics, and music (a bit about SEC football). He's a fine memoirist and I think he would be a fine publication editor, though I don't know about his designing skills, but surely he knows someone if necessary. I can contact him (vouching for your greatness, not that it needs avouching) or you could drop him a note on your own (and feel free to mention my name). I wouldn't mind repurposing some of my posts there as well. If there's an American region that needs redefinition, it's the South. It's a place of contradictions (a good thing in my view) but it's typically simplified from the outside.
Terry is also much more industrious than I am.
