If you look at the Vice article of Carlson footage that was edited out, it's clear that Ye has the ability to monitor himself--after a particularly offensive and incoherent remark, he says something like "Maybe we should edit that out." And Fox does so, along with many other statements that are either anti-Semitic or unbalanced or both. The greatest offense, to me, is the fact that Fox edited the interview to make Ye look more thoughtful and less reckless than he is--they want a popular, black entertainer who can validate their own prejudices.

I disagree about the White Lives Matter t-shirt. He wore it along with Candice Owens, who is incapable of indirection, irony, or self-reflection. Their rather simple goal was to undermine the Black Lives Matter agenda and thereby elevate their own standing (among Trumpers as well as A-listers and wealthy one-percenters).
