I think you mean "understate" or "deny" or "undermine the relevance of" "the GOP's role in this." Surely it's a good thing to "undermine their role" in practically everything they do.

And there are plenty of Democrats (and democratic socialists and libertarians and independents) whose goals / roles need undermining from time to time. That's why it's more effective (if you want to effect change rather than maintain the status quo) to contribute to and work for individual candidates.

In the 2016 cycle (I'm going by memory, so please fact check me) the Democratic Senate PAC and Democratic leaders like Charles Schumer were funded by Goldman Sachs practically equally with their Republican counterparts.
