I think X / Twitter and Meta / Facebook are primarily opportunities for venting, not sharing / communicating / persuading.

In the time it takes to craft a handful of social media posts, you could phone your elected officials about topic XYZ or write a thoughtful analysis and publish it. No guarantee that the alternatives will make a difference (and you're not assured a few thumbs up or retweets), but anything on X-Meta certainly won't.
